Where should I enter credential information for Central Warehouse ?

Central Warehouses uses credentials to create transactions (sales orders) in another database. This database can be on the same SQL server, but that does not have to be. When the databases are not on the same server, it might be necessary to set specific credentials with sufficient rights to perform these actions.

These are the places where credential information can be entered or changed.:

• services: the services always use a specific account to run.
  This can be accessed by: Start/Settings/Control panel/Administrative tools/Services
  Look for the two services named "Exact Easy Access ...."
  Right-click on the service and choose Properties, tab "Log on".
  This user also needs to be an active Globe user.

• Warehouse in sales company:
  go to Globe warehouse maintenace, button 'Central Warehouse', button 'User'.
  This credential information is not obligatory and can be left empty.
  When the 'central' database is on another server, you may have to use
  a domain account which has sufficient rights on the 'central' server.
  This user also needs to be an active Globe user.
   
• Customer in central company:
  go to Globe 'accounts receivable' maintenance, button 'Central Warehouse', button 'User'
  (you may have to switch to 'simple' view first).
  This credential information is not obligatory and can be left empty.
  When the 'central' database is on another server, you may have to use
  a domain account which has sufficient rights on the 'central' server.
  This user also needs to be an active Globe user.
    
• Supplier in sales company (only for SE5733 CW Purchase)
  go to Globe 'accounts payable' maintenance, button 'Central Warehouse', button 'User'
  (you may have to switch to 'simple' view first).
  This credential information is not obligatory and can be left empty.
  When the 'central' database is on another server, you may have to use
  a domain account which has sufficient rights on the 'central' server.
  This user also needs to be an active Globe user.
  
  

If you use a specific domain account to access a database on a remote SQL server, this domain user must be 'local administrator' on both SQL-servers.
 

Sample scenario when using remote SQL servers:

Database 001 = sales company on server 'Paris' in domain 'europe'.
Database 010 = central company on server 'Sydney' in domain 'australia'.
Both domains have a specific user 'cwexact' with the same password 'exact123'.
The CW services are installed and running on server Sydney, configured for server 'Syndey' and database 010.
There is a stable and fast dedicated connection between Sydney and Paris.

Server 'Sydney' can be accessed from the Europe domain on IP address 192.168.14.110
Server 'Paris' can be accessed from the Australia domain on IP address 10.0.0.1

User europe\cwexact should be local administrator on server Paris and on server Sydney.
User australia\cwexact should be local administrator on server Paris and on server Sydney.
User cwexact should be an active Globe user (user id 'cwexact'), member of Globe admin role in company 001.
User cwexact should be an active Globe user (user id 'cwexact'), member of Globe admin role in company 010.

Company 001 (sales) on server Paris:
Warehouse 010 is linked as 'central warehouse' to database 010 on server 192.168.14.110.
Credential information ("user" button): user name=cwexact, domain=australia, password=exact123
Supplier 10010 is linked as 'central warehouse' supplier to database 010 on server 192.168.14.110.
Credential information ("user" button): user name=cwexact, domain=australia, password=exact123

Company 010 (central) on server Sydney:
Customer 5001 is linked as 'central warehouse' debtor to database 001 on server 10.0.0.1
Credential information ("user" button): user name=cwexact, domain=europe, password=exact123
