Creating service contracts can be time consuming and in most cases, a lot of contracts are similar or even identical. To speed up the process of creating service contracts, predefined service contract templates have been introduced to minimize entry errors. You can now create multiple templates to be used. When creating a service contract for a customer, just choose the correct template and all the fields will be defined automatically. It is even possible to have agreement lines in the template, so these can also be automatically filled in the new service contract.
The information in this document is applicable to product update 257 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
Template section
Division
Your division will be displayed. This information cannot be edited.
Code
Type a code for the service contract template. This is mandatory.
Note: This field cannot be edited once you have saved the service contract template.
Description
Type a description for the service contract template. This is mandatory.
Active
Select this check box to activate the service contract template. By default, this check box is selected.
Account section
Contract account
Type or select a contract account for the service contract template.
Contact person: Origin
Select the contact person for the service contract template. You can select No default, Main contact person of contract account, or Select. By default, Main contact person of contract account is selected.
Service address (Type)
Select the type of service address for the service contract template. You can select No default, Delivery, Postal, or Visit. By default, No default is selected.
Contact (Key): Origin
Select the main contact person for the service contract template. You can select No default, Main contact person of contract account, or Select. By default, No default is selected.
General section
Project: Origin
Select the type of project for the service contract template. You can select No default, Select, or New Project. By default, No default is selected.
Project
Type or select a project for the service contract template.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Select at Project: Origin.
Division: Origin
Select the origin of the division for the service contract template. You can select Select, Contract account, or Creator. By default, Contract account is selected.
Division
Type or select a division for the service contract template.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Select at Division: Origin.
Contract type
Type or select a contract type for the service contract template.
Cost center: Origin
Select the origin of the cost center for the service contract template. You can select Select, Contract account, or Creator. By default, Contract account is selected.
Cost center
Type or select a cost center for the service contract template.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Select at Cost center: Origin.
Cost unit
Type or select a cost unit for the service contract template.
Indexation section
If this section is defined and the contract template is added to the service contract, the values in this section will be displayed in the new service contract. However, the values in the service agreements that are linked to the contract template will be based on the values defined in the Indexation section for the contract template.
Indexation status
Select whether you want the contract template to be indexed. If Blocked is selected, the contract template will not be indexed. Select Not blocked to index the contract template. By default, Not blocked is displayed.
Indexation month
Select a month for the indexation for the service agreement. You can also leave the field blank if you do not want to select a month.
Indexation: Type
Select the type of index for the contract template. Select Index with percentage or Index with amount. By default, Index with percentage is displayed.
Indexation: Percentage
Type the percentage for the index. This field is mandatory.
Note: This field is available only if Index with percentage is selected at Indexation: Type.
Indexation: Amount
Type the amount for the index. This field is mandatory.
Note: This field is available only if Index with amount is selected at Indexation: Type.
Contract invoicing section
Invoice account: Origin
Select the origin of the invoice account for the service contract template. You can select No default, Select, Contract account, Invoice account of contract account, Parent account of contract account, or Reseller of contract account. By default, Invoice account of contract account is selected.
Invoice account
Type or select an invoice account for the service contract template.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Select at Invoice account: Origin.
Invoicing status
Select a status for the invoice for the service contract template. You can select Not blocked or Blocked. By default, Not blocked is selected.
Currency: Origin
Select the origin of the currency for the service contract template. You can select No default or Select. By default, No default is selected.
Currency
Type or select a currency for the service contract template.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Select at Currency: Origin.
Selection code
Type or select the relevant selection code. The selection codes that are displayed for selection are retrieved from Exact Globe.
Invoice line grouping
Select the grouping for the invoice lines for the service contract template. Select No grouping if you do not want the invoice lines to be grouped, or By agreement to group the invoice lines by agreement.
Service Invoicing section
Invoice account 1 - 5: Origin
Select the origin of the invoice account for the service contract template. You can select No default, Select, Contract account, Invoice account of contract account, Parent account of contract account, or Reseller of contract account. By default, Invoice account of contract account is selected.

Type or select an invoice account for the invoice account for the service contract template.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Select at Invoice account 1 - 5: Origin.
Line Defaults section
Invoicing type
Select the type of invoice for the service contract template. You can select Start date (+) (invoicing interval (line)), or Fixed day interval (line). By default, Start date (+) (invoicing interval (line)) is selected.
Invoice frequency
Select the frequency of the invoice for the service contract template. You can select Yearly, Monthly, 4-weekly, Weekly, or Once-only. By default, Yearly is selected.
Note: Only Yearly and Monthly is available for selection if Fixed day interval (line) is selected at Invoicing type.
Invoicing day year
Select the month, and then the date the service contract will be invoiced. By default, January, and 1 will be selected.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Fixed day interval (line) at Invoicing type and Yearly at Invoice frequency.
Invoicing day month
Select the month the service contract will be invoiced. By default, 1 is selected.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Fixed day interval (line) at Invoicing type, and Monthly at Invoice frequency.
Start date: Origin
Select the origin of the start date for the invoice. You can select No default, Select, or Current date. By default, Current date is selected.
Start date
Type or select a start date for the invoice for the service contract template.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Select at Start date: Origin.
End date: Origin
Select the origin of the end date for the invoice. You can select No default, Select, Current date, Current date + number of days, or Start date + number of days. By default, No default is selected.
End date
Type or select an end date for the invoice for the service contract template.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Select at End date: Origin.
Number of days
Type the number of days to the end date of the invoice.
Note: This field is available only if you have selected Current date + number of days or Start date + number of days at End date: Origin.
Agreements section
This section displays the agreements linked to the service contract template. You can also link agreements to the service contract template by clicking Add. However, you can link agreements to the service contract template only after the service contract template has been saved.
