Introduction
In this screen, you can override the capacity hours of an operation by editing work days, editing shift information, or restoring defaults.
What version are you using?
The information in this document is applicable to product update 405 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
How do I override the capacity of an operation?
- In the Selection: Production order screen, define the criteria to display only the production orders that you want to view in the scheduler.
- Click Start.
- In the Visual scheduler screen, right-click on a scheduled operation (in the Shop overview or Op. zoom in form), and then click Edit operation capacity. Alternatively, select a scheduled operation in the Shop overview or Op. zoom in form, click Edit, and then click Operation capacity.
- In the Edit operation capacity screen at the corresponding row, select the check box for each of the operation that you want to apply the changes to.
Keep in mind: If you have selected a scheduled operation in the Shop overview or Op. zoom in form, the operation will be selected by default.
- At the Start date and End date fields, type or select the dates to define the start and end dates of the change.
- Modify the work days and shift details of the selected operation.
- Click Update.
- Click Close.
Fields
Start date
Type or select a date to define the start date of the change.
End date
Type or select a date to define the end date of the change.
Edit working days
Select this if you want to edit the days defined at the Start date and End date fields as work or non-work days.
Edit shift information
Select this to modify the shift information for the selected days.
Restore defaults
Select this to restore the shift information of each operation to its default.
Change shift information for selected days in date range
Select the check box(es) to define the days that you want the shift information to be modified.
Note: These check boxes are available only if you have selected Edit shift information.
Set as non-working day for selected operations
Select this option if you want each day in the specified date range to be a non-work day.
Note: This is available only if you have selected Edit working days.
Columns
These columns are available only if you have selected the Edit shift information option.
Off
Select this option if you do not want the changes to apply to this shift. The days within the specified date range that fall on the selected days under the Change shift information for selected days in date range section will not be considered as work days.
On
Select this option if you want the changes to apply to this shift. The days within the specified date range that fall on the selected days under the Change shift information for selected days in date range section will be considered as work days.
Shift
This displays the shift.
Start time*
Specify the start time of the shift.
End time*
Specify the end time of the shift.
Break start*
Specify the start of the break time for the shift.
Break end*
Specify the end of the break time for the shift.
Scheduled resources*
This displays:
- the maximum number of machines in the operation that the production operations can run through at the same time during the shift, or
- the maximum number of employees that can work on production operations in the operation at the same time during the shift.
Hours
This displays the duration of the shift in hours.
Capacity
This displays the updated capacity of the shift for the selected days in the specified date range. The capacity is calculated by multiplying the value in the Scheduled resources* column with the value in the Hours column.
Buttons
Update
Click this to apply the capacity changes to selected operations.
Close
Click this to exit.
