Introduction
Exact Globe Next allows you to change the settings based on your personal preferences. There are two tabs from which you can change the user settings in Exact Globe Next. These include:
Note: Certain changes will only be applied after you restart Exact Globe Next.
What version are you using?
The information in this document is based on product update 407 and higher. If you have versions lower than
this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
How do I define the general user settings?
- In the System/General/User settings screen, click the General tab.
- Define the fields.
- Click Save.
Fields
Language section
Exact Globe Next
Select the language you want to use. The options available are dependent on the license.
Descriptions in list boxes
Select the language to be used for the descriptions. You can choose up to a maximum of five languages. For more information, see General settings.
Filter section
Number of rows (Max.)
Type the maximum number of rows you want to display for all the search results. By default, the maximum number of rows to be displayed in the search screen is set at “50”. If you have defined “10” to search for the general ledger accounts, you will see a maximum of 10 general ledger accounts listed in the search screen.
Automatic selection (Browse)
Select the filtering options based on Invalid reference and Data already exists. The system will automatically filter the options based on the settings under Invalid reference if a value defined does not exist in the system. For example, you want to generate a report on the stock position of a particular warehouse. You define a warehouse code “CON” that does not exist and click or press F5. The filter option in the search screen will take the invalid reference setting you have set at Automatic selection (Browse). In this case, it is starts with. Based on the same concept, the system will filter based on Data already exists if the data defined exist in the database. For example, you define “MAIN” as the warehouse code and you click or press F5. The filter option will automatically take the settings under Data already exists at Automatic selection (Browse).
There are three options available under Invalid reference and Data already exists. The options are:
- contains — This displays all the options that contain a specific letter or code.
- starts with — This displays all the options that start with a specific letter or code.
- None — This displays all the options.
Confirmations section
Don’t ask again
Select this check box and the message “Exit this function?” will be not be displayed when you exit Exact Globe Next.
Note: The Reset button is disabled if the Don’t ask again check box is selected.
Buttons
Restore defaults
Click this to undo any modifications and restore the default values.
Save
Click this to save the settings that have been changed.
Close
Click this to exit.
