Product Update 403: Postcodes for United States and Canada supported

It is now possible to view the postcodes for United States and Canada in Exact Globe. In this enhancement, the Zip + 4 code system is introduced. This system uses the basic five–digit plus four additional digits to identify the geographical sections such as street addresses, city blocks, a group of apartments, and others. Company data settings

This enhancement is also extended to the relevant menu paths:

• Finance à Accounts receivable à Maintain
• Finance à Accounts payable à Maintain
• Inventory à Items à Maintain
• Inventory à Warehouse management à Warehouses
• System à General à Settings à Company data settings
• System à General à Countries à Tax schedule

Tax schedule logic

• If you define a postcode that matches with the postcode defined in the Tax schedule screen, then the tax codes in the order entry screen are based on the tax code defined at the Tax code field under the Tax section in the Tax schedule screen.
• If you define a postcode that does not match with the postcode defined in the Tax schedule screen, then the system will check the postcode against the first five digits of the postcode entered.

Keep in mind:

• For the menu path System à General à Countries à Tax schedule, the changes are applicable to multiple tax environments and are controlled by the Use tax module setting.
• When you select the relevant postcode in the tax schedule overview screen, the State and City fields will not be automatically filled with of the city, state, or province in which your company is located. The State and City fields will be automatically filled only in the Tax schedule screen.
