Introduction
This document provides the steps to creating and maintaining
activity types.
Apart from using the activity types that have been
predefined by Exact Globe Next, it is also possible for you to create your own
activity types. Activity types are various kinds of activities involving your
accounts and your business.
What version are you using?
The information in this document is applicable to product
update 407. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained
here will not be applicable.
How do I create an activity type?
- Go
to System ➔
General ➔
CRM ➔
Activity types.
- Click
New.
- At
Description, type the description for the activity type.
- At
Template, select the template type for the activity type.
- Click
Save, and then click Close, or click New to create another
activity type.
Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” icon are
mandatory.
How do I edit the description of an existing activity type?
- Go
to System ➔ General ➔ CRM ➔ Activity types.
- Select
the relevant activity type.
- Click
Open.
- At
Type, type the new description for the activity type.
- Click
Save, and then click Close.
How do I activate activity types?
- Go
to System ➔ General ➔ CRM ➔ Activity types.
- Select
the relevant activity type.
- Click
Open.
- At
Active, select the check box.
- Click
Save, and then click Close.
How do I repair activity types?
- Go
to System ➔ General ➔ CRM ➔ Activity types.
- Select
the relevant activity type.
- Click
Open.
- Click
Repair.
- Click
Save, and then Close.
How do I preview the report for an activity type?
- Go
to System ➔ General ➔ CRM ➔ Activity types.
- Select
the relevant activity type.
- Click
Open, and then click Preview.
- At
Account, type or select the relevant account.
- Click
Print, and the report of the activity type will be displayed.
Fields
ID
The identification number of the activity type is displayed
here. The identification number is automatically assigned by Exact Globe Next, and
cannot be changed.
Description
Type the description for the activity type.
Active
Select this check box to activate the activity type.
Template
Select the template for the activity type.
Buttons
Repair
Click this to repair an activity type, and Exact Globe Next
will automatically create a different set of fields.
Preview
Click this to generate a print preview of an activity type.
Save
Click this to save the newly created activity type, and to
save all the changes that have been made to an existing type.
New
Click this to create another activity type.
Close
Click this to exit.
Columns
Fields section
Order
This column displays the sequence of the fields to be
displayed in the activity request layout.
Name
This column displays the names of the fields.
Suffix
This column displays the suffix of a field.
User-defined
This column displays the user-defined labels of the fields.
Mandatory
This column displays whether a field is mandatory or not
mandatory while the activity request is in the open or realized status, or in
both the open and realized statuses.
Edit
This column displays whether the field can or cannot be
edited while the activity request is in the open or realized status, or in both
the open and realized statuses.
Default
This column displays the default values to be defined for
the fields.
Selection
This column indicates whether a field has a selection list
created. A 
green
check mark indicates that the field has a selection field.
Icons
Click this to add a field to an activity type.
Click this to edit a field belonging to an activity type.
Click this to delete a field belonging to an activity type.
