Introduction
This page allows you to change the database
connection mode between AppRole and SQL Login for Exact Synergy
Enterprise.
Roles and rights
To change the database connection setting, the
Administrator role and Administrator rights for Exact Synergy
Enterprise and the relevant databases are required.
Note:
- For more details on function rights, go to Modules
> System > Setup > Security > Function rights.
- For more details on roles, go to Modules > System > Setup > Security > Roles.
What version are you using?
The information in this document is
applicable to product update 257 and higher. If you have versions lower than
this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
How do I change the database connection setting?
It is recommended that you back up the Exact Synergy Enterprise SQL server database in case any of the following steps encounters errors.
- On the Connection Setting page, make the necessary
changes.
- Click Save.

Click this to save the changes.

Role section
Connection Mode
This setting determines how Exact Synergy
Enterprise will access the database. Select any of the following:
- AppRole — Select
this option to use the application role to access the database.
- SQL Login — Select
this option to use the SQL Login user to access the database.
Note: If the SQL Login option is selected, the Modules ? System ? Setup ? Settings –
Database ? Update database password menu path will be displayed. For more
information, see Changing database passwords.
Login section
This section specifies the user account
that is used to log in to the database so that the database connection setting
can be changed. The user account must have the Administrator rights to
the database.
Integrated security
Select this check box to use the integrated
security. This is the type of authentication that will be used to access the
database. If this check box is not selected, SQL authentication is required.
Username
Type the user name of the SQL Login user.
Note: This
is enabled only if the Integrated security check box is not selected.
Password
Type the password of the SQL Login user.
Note: This
is enabled only if the Integrated security check box is not selected.
