Introduction
You can gain access to Exact Synergy Enterprise using the identity of another person through the delegation of access rights feature. This feature is useful as it allows you to carry out the duties of your colleague while he or she is away. Apart from assuming the identity of other people, you can also assume the identity of another reseller, supplier, or customer who has access rights to the system. Additionally, you can also assign your access rights to other people.
When you take over another person's identity, you can execute his/her tasks and view or access his/her personal information, such as private workflow and Person (Specific) documents (documents with security level 100).
Roles and rights
To gain access to the delegation feature, you need to have the following function rights:
- 180 – Maintain delegation profile for specific employee. Users with the HR role have this function right. With this function right, you can assume the identity of another person.
- 209 – Employee is allowed to impersonate reseller. Users with the Reseller manager role have this function right. With this function right, you can assume the identity of another reseller.
- 447 – Employee is allowed to impersonate supplier. Users with the Supplier manager role have this function right. With this function right, you can assume the identity of another supplier.
- 208 – Employee is allowed to impersonate customer. Users with the Customer manager role have this function right. With this function right, you can assume the identity of another customer.

How do I define the delegation settings?
- Click Settings.
- Define the settings.
- Click Save.
How do I assume the identity of a person, reseller, supplier, or customer?
- Click Person, Reseller, Supplier, or Customer under the Assume section.
- Select the person, reseller, supplier, or customer.
Buttons

Click this to obtain a list of people involved in the delegation of access rights. For more information, see Delegation list.
Save
Click this to save the settings.
Close
Click this to exit.
Fields
Identity section
Current
This displays the name of the user who is currently accessing the system.
Actual
This displays the name of the actual user who is using the identity of the current user to access the system.
Person section
Person
Select the person you want to define the delegation settings for. You can select this person to assign his or her access rights to another person and/or to assume the access rights of another person, reseller, supplier, or customer.
Assign section
This displays the list of people who were assigned the rights of the selected people. Click Add to add another person to the assign list. To delete a person from the list, click the icon under the Delete column.
Assume section
This displays the list of people whose rights were assumed by the selected people. Click the icon under the Assume column to gain access to the system using the identity of the person.
Meanwhile, you can also assume the identity of another person, reseller, supplier, or customer directly by clicking the Person, Reseller, Supplier, or Customer button, respectively. However, you need to have specific rights to do this. For more information, see Overview of function rights.
Person
Click this if you want to assume the identity of another person. Next, select the person.
Reseller
Click this to assume the identity of another reseller. Next, select the reseller.
Supplier
Click this to assume the identity of another supplier. Next, select the supplier.
Customer
Click this to assume the identity of another customer. Next, select the customer.
