Introduction
You can specify email settings on this screen. This will control how each of your companies in your Exact Globe+ environment sends email. The settings here will override individual user settings unless User settings option is selected as explained below.
What version are you using?
The information in this document is applicable
to product update 502 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain
features explained here will not be applicable.
How do I define or edit the email settings?
- In the E-mail settings screen, select the relevant option and define or edit the relevant fields.
- Click Save.
- A message
“Changes will take effect after restarting the software” will be displayed.
- Click OK.
- Restart Exact Globe+.
Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” icon are
mandatory.
How do I view the changes made to the settings?
- Click the Logbook
button.
- The list of
changes made to the settings will be displayed.
- Click Close
to exit.
Fields
E-mail section
User settings
Select this option if you want to allow users themselves to control how email is sent.
SMTP
Select this option to use Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) as the company's method of email exchange.
Exchange Online
Select this option to use Microsoft Exchange Online as the company's method of email exchange.
The options selected here will determine what options are available in the following sections.
When User settings is selected, the Note section will be displayed.
When SMTP is selected, the following sections will be displayed:
- Use section
- Sender section
- Authentication method section
When Exchange Online is selected, the following sections will be displayed:
- Sender section
- Authentication section
User settings option
Note section
This section appears when User settings is selected at E-mail section. It informs you that the individual user's setting as specified at the indicated menu path will be used.
SMTP option
Use section
There are two options you can choose from this section which
are the Network or Local path. Both of the options have different
features.
If you select Network under this section, the
following fields will be displayed:
Server
Type the SMTP server to be used.
Port
Type the SMTP port to be used.
Use Secure Connection (SSL)
Select this check box to use the SSL
security.
If you select Local path under this section, the
following field will be displayed:
Directory
Type or select the directory
location by clicking . This directory location will be used to store e-mails.
Sender section
Account
Type the POP 3 account of the
server.
E-mail address
Type the sender’s default e-mail
address. The default e-mail address will be used to retrieve reports as well as
test e-mails. Whenever necessary, you can specify other e-mail addresses to
receive reports.
Reply to
Type the reply e-mail address if
it is different from the one specified at E-mail address.
Authentication method section
This section is deactivated when you select Local
path at Use section.
Basic
Select this option to use the
basic authentication method.
Secure Password Authentication (NTLM)
Select this option to use the
secure password authentication method.
Note: The User and Password
fields will be disabled if you select this option.
User
Type the user login name for the
SMTP e-mail functionality.
Password
Type the user password.
Exchange Online option
Sender section
Account
Type the POP 3 account of the
server.
Reply to
Type the reply e-mail address if
it is different from the one specified at E-mail address.
Buttons
Close
Click this to exit.
Save
Click this to save all the changes you have made in E-mail settings.
Logbook
Click this to view the information of the changes you
have made in the settings.
