Allocating project budgets

Introduction
This document provides you the steps to allocating project
budgets.
What version are you using?
The information in this document is applicable to product
update 407 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features
explained here will not be applicable.
How do I allocate budget entry lines to a project?
- In the overview of budget entries screen, define the search criteria.
- Click Refresh.
- Select the relevant budget entry line.
- Click Allocate.
- At Allocate to, select the relevant option.
- Define the relevant columns.
- Click Close.
- A confirmation message will be displayed. Click Yes to proceed, or click No to cancel.
Field
Allocate to
Select to allocate the budget to one of the following
options:
- Children – Select this option to allocate the budget to
children projects.
- Periods – Select this option to allocate the budget to
different periods of a year.
- Items – Select this option to allocate the budget to items.
- Person – Select this option to allocate the budget to
employees.
Columns
Quantity
Type the budget quantity to be allocated.
Amount
Type the budget amount to be allocated.
Year
This column displays the years to which you can allocate the
budget.
Period
This column displays the periods to which you can allocate the
budget.
Item
Type the item name or press F2 to select an item.
Description
This column displays the descriptions of items.
Person
Type the name of the person or press F2 to select a person.
Full name
This column displays the full names of the people that you
have selected at Person.
Buttons
equal to
Click this to allocate the budgeted cost or budgeted
revenue equally to the children projects, periods, items, or persons.
For example, you want to allocate a budgeted revenue of EUR
500,000 of a project to two of its children projects. After you have clicked equal
to, the system will automatically allocate EUR 250,000 to each child
project.
Close
Click this to exit.
