How-to: Installing Exact Shop Floor Control

Introduction

Shop Floor Control (SFC) allows the shop floor controllers to retrieve up-to-date data on the work issued to the shop floor and their priorities from Exact Globe Next, and then manage the shop floor effectively via the simple interface of Exact Synergy Enterprise. The planners can have an overall picture of the shop floor, and with the real-time information, they can address matters related to quality, resources, or changes to requirements without losing valuable time.

For SFC to work, you have to install Exact Integration, followed by Exact Shop Floor Control. Exact Integration is installed to allow the synchronization of data between Exact Globe Next and Exact Synergy Enterprise. For more information, see How-to: Installing Exact Integration.

Installing Exact Shop Floor Control will install a custom resolver and a config file to the same folder as the one for Exact Integration. There are two MSI installation files available in the cab folder where your Exact Synergy Enterprise installation folder is located:

• ShopFloorControl x86.msi — for 32-bit machines
• ShopFloorControl x64.msi — for 64-bit machines

The installation process for both MSI files is the same.

Notes:

• Exact Integration and Exact Shop Floor Control must be installed in the same folder on the same machine because they are sharing the same services.
• From product update 262 onwards, the solution will only be supported on Exact Lightweight Integration Server (ELIS), and will no longer be supported on the MSI version. Note that the installation files for the MSI version will no longer be available from this product update onwards. In the case that you decide to continue using the existing solution on the MSI version, the synchronization will remain to work as usual although any issues that may be encountered will no longer be resolved henceforth. Therefore, it is advisable to migrate to ELIS to ensure that the solution will continue to work correctly.

How do I install Exact Shop Floor Control?

1. Double-click the ShopFloorControl x86.msi or ShopFloorControl x64.msi file. You will see the following screen:

   

2. Click Next.

   

3. Select the I accept the terms in the License Agreement check box if you agree with the license agreement, and then click Next.

   

4. Click Browse to select the folder for Exact Shop Floor Control to be installed. The default installation path will be defined.
5. Click Next.

   

6. Click Install to start the installation process. The related integration services will be stopped and restarted. You will see the following screens:

   

   

   

7. Click Finish to exit.

How do I remove Exact Shop Floor Control?

1. Double-click the ShopFloorControl x86.msi or ShopFloorControl x64.msi file. You will see the following screen:

   

2. Click Remove.

   

3. Click Remove again.
