Manufacturing ➔ Entries ➔ Release
Before work begins on a production order and parts are issued to the production floor, usually there are checks done to ensure that the materials are available, and the resources and capacity are sufficient. If the materials, resource, and capacity levels are found to be sufficient, the production order is ready for release. In addition to that, every production order can be assigned a priority status that will determine the reservation of available capacity and materials as compared to other production orders.
There are options to allow or disallow the printing and processing of production orders prior to releasing the production orders. If production orders are required to be released before they can be printed and processed, select the Release: Required check box in the Production order status section at System ➔ General ➔ Settings, under Manufacturing settings.
