A competency profile for a job group, job activity, job title, project, or vacancy is a template consisting of a set of competences.
You can define the norm values of the competences for a job group, job activity, or job title to reflect the acceptable requirements that are needed by the employees to perform the job as specified in the job group, job activity, or job title. You can use the norm values as a comparison with the ratings assigned to the competency profile of an applicant or employee. It will then serve as the basis to decide if the applicant or employee is competent to perform the job.
You can also define the norm values of the competences for a project to specify the requirements that are needed by the employees to be involved in the particular project. Besides that, norm values of competences for a vacancy can be defined to specify the requirements that are needed by an applicant to fulfill the vacancy.
Norm values cannot be set for competences that are linked to a field type with type other than Value. For more information on field types, see Creating and Modifying Field Types for Competences, Performance Reviews, and Target Agreements of Employees.
For more details on what you can do with function rights or levels, go to System/Setup/Security/Function rights, select the required module, and then click on the relevant ID. To find out the functions you can perform with a particular role, go to System/Setup/Security/Roles, type in the description, click Refresh, and then click the required link under the Role column.

This displays the set of competences defined for the job group, job activity, job title, project, or vacancy. You can define the norm values by selecting the relevant ratings.
