Introduction

This page displays the overview of the additional free fields that can be defined for accounts, contacts, addresses, and contracts.

Roles and rights

To view free fields, function right 868 – View service configuration free fields is required. Users with the Service desk, Service engineer, Service planner, or Service manager role have this function right.

Notes:

  • For more details on function rights, go to System à Setup à Security à Function rights.
  • For more details on roles, go to System à Setup à Security à Roles.

What version are you using?

The information in this document is based on product update 250.

How do I view free fields?

  1. On the Configuration: Free fields – Configuration header page, type or select a division at Division under the Criteria section.
  2. Click Refresh.
  3. Select the required free field under the Name column. For more information, see Defining free fields for accounts, contacts, addresses, and contracts.

How do I clear the information of the free fields?

  1. On the Configuration: Free fields – Configuration header page, type or select a division at Division under the Criteria section.
  2. Click Refresh.
  3. Select the check box of the required free field.
  4. Click Clear. A message “Confirm: Clear” will be displayed.
  5. Click OK.

Keep in mind: The check boxes of the free fields are enabled only after the free fields are defined.
