How-to: Navigating Exact Synergy Enterprise in textual mode
Introduction
This document introduces the common terminology of an Exact Synergy Enterprise page in the textual mode. The textual styling can be applied throughout Exact Synergy Enterprise by selecting Textual at Appearance under the Menu: Appearance section in the General tab on the Preferences page, accessible via System ? Setup ? Settings – General ? Preferences. All users can access this feature.
Note: The information in this document is applicable to product update 254 and lower. For more information on the user interface for product update 255 and higher, see Navigating and working with Exact Synergy Enterprise.
Common screen terminology
If you are navigating Exact Synergy Enterprise using the textual style appearance, you will see the following page. It is made up of different sections as specified below.
- Toolbar: This provides access to frequently-used functions.
- Top menu: This provides access to the different modules of Exact Synergy Enterprise.
- Left menu: This provides quick access to the three main operations including:
- View – Click this to expand the menu and to list the links with information related to you such as your personal particulars, bookmarked pages, workflow, your accounts, opportunities, and documents.
- Create – Click this to expand the menu and to list the links that will be used to create the relevant object such as a new document, project, or request.
- Search – Click this to expand the menu and to list search functions for the relevant object. Click the object such as Accounts or Requests to access the object’s advanced search page. Type the search term and click Search to perform a quick search.
At the top of the page, there are additional links that you can access, namely your name, Log off, Preferences, and About. Click your name to view your personal particulars. Click Log off to close the session and, subsequently close the window. Click Preferences to view the Preferences page. Click About to list the release notes of the current version.
Note: The above terminology and definitions remain valid when you are accessing Exact Synergy Enterprise via the Customer, Partner, and Supplier portals from product update 255 onwards.
