Product Update 252: RequestFlow service introduced to replicate the Workflow module and features

Previously, the workflow engine of Exact Synergy Enterprise was divided into several business components, such as “Request”, “Request type”, and “Request field”. In this product update, the RequestFlow service has been introduced, whereby it encompasses the workflow engine of Exact Synergy Enterprise. Hence, all the information required is tied together in that service and this makes it possible for you to work on a request using only the web service. These actions include creating, approving, realizing, processing, and rejecting requests.

The RequestFlow service is tied to the standard request business component in Exact Synergy Enterprise and thus, includes the standard request validations. It also supports only the REST format. Most of the major and core features of the Workflow module have been covered. There are however, certain features that have yet to be covered. The following features are not covered in this product update:

• Solution specific features — Professional Services Automation (PSA) and Service Management (SMS).
• Module specific features — CRM, HRM, IIR, Mail merge, and SDK fields.
• SOAP format.
