This screen is displayed by clicking the Manufacturing tab in the item maintenance screen (go to Inventory ➔ Items ➔ Maintain, select an item, and then click Open). In this tab, you can define additional attributes of the item as well as create Bill of Materials (BOM) for the item.
Select this check box to indicate that this item can be produced.
Note: This check box is automatically selected when a BOM is linked to the item.
This check box is selected if the item is used as an assembly part to produce one end product. To become a part item, an item has to be included in the BOM (Bill of Material) of another item. The check box is not selected if this item is not a “Part” item. This information cannot be edited.
The item’s highest level in the BOM is displayed. This information cannot be edited.
BOM(s) linked to the item will be displayed at BOM.
Click this to create a BOM for the item.
Click this to modify the details of the BOM.
Note: This icon is enabled only if you have selected a version.
Click this to delete the selected version.
Click this to copy the BOM (main version) of a different item to the item.
Note: This icon is enabled only when there is no BOM version linked to the item.
Click this to specify the main version of the item. A green check mark will then be displayed under the Main version column of the specified version.
Note: This icon is enabled if there is more than one version linked in the BOM section under the Manufacturing tab and if you have selected a version which is not specified as the main version.
The BOM structure(s) where this item is being used will be displayed in the Where-used box.
Click this to modify the details of the where-used BOM.
Note: This icon is enabled only when you have selected an assembled item.
Click this to replace a part item with another part item in one or more BOM(s) or assembled item(s).
