Workflow ? Reports ? Requests ? Search
You can create a request quickly by copying the information from an existing request.
All users can copy an existing request to create a request.
Notes:
The information in this document is based on product update 248.
This section displays the fields that can be copied from the existing request to the new request. Select the fields that you want to copy from the existing request to the new request by selecting the check box(es). However, the information from the existing request can only be copied based on the following conditions:
Only information from fields used in the request type for both the existing request and the new request (in the Open or New stage of the new request) can be copied. For example, if the request type definition of the new request defines that the Item field is not visible when the request is newly created, the information in the Item field of the existing request will not be available for copying. This also applies to all the free fields such as the Free: Text 1 and Free: Date 1 fields.
If the Open check box under the Edit section in the Request: Field page for the field is not selected, the field will not be copied to the new request. This is because the field cannot be edited for requests with the Open status. Therefore, the field will not be copied to the new request. For more information, see Customizing request type fields (Main document).
Information that is kept in the hidden fields in the existing request will not be available for copying.
Information in the Our ref., Sales order number, and Purchase order number fields will not be available for copying.
For the Security level field, if the security level of the existing request is lower than 10, the check box is disabled and you cannot change this.
For the Related (Request) field, you can select the check box to copy the information from the existing request. However, if the field is not available or blank in the existing request, or you have cleared the check box, the field will be pre-filled with a hyperlink to the existing request.
