Introduction
On this page, you can view the list of existing competences in the system. In addition, you can also create competences.
Note: This menu path will only be available if you set the competency method to Advanced in the HRM general settings. For more information, see Defining HRM general settings.
Roles and rights
To view the list of competences, function right 505 – View payroll components is required. User with the HR role have this function right.
To create and modify competences, function right 508 – Maintain payroll components is required. Users with the HR role have this function right.
Notes:

- For more details on roles, go to System à Setup à Security à Roles.

The information in this document is based on product update 251.
How do I view competences?
- On the HRM: Competences page, click the corresponding hyperlink under the Code column.
- Click Close to exit.
How do I modify existing competences?
- On the HRM: Competences page, click the corresponding hyperlink under the Codecolumn.
- Click Edit.
- Make the necessary changes, and then click Save.
How do I create competences?
- On the HRM: Competences page, click New. The HRM: Competence - New page will be displayed.
- Define the required information.
- Click Save to save the entry, or Save + New to save the entry and to create another competence.
Keep in mind: All fields with the "!" icon are mandatory.

Columns
Code
This displays the codes of the competences. You can click a hyperlink to view and modify the corresponding competence. For more information, see Viewing competences. In addition, you can sort the listing by codes in ascending or descending order by clicking 
or 
respectively.
Description
This displays the descriptions of the competences. You can sort the listing by descriptions in ascending or descending order by clicking 
or 
respectively.
Field type
This displays the field types of the competences.
Weight
This displays the weight values of the competences. Weight values are used during the calculation of ratings in the competency profiles and scores for the applicant-vacancy matching process.
