Introduction
If you are using the XML server in your administration, it is possible to define the XML server settings.
What version are you using?
The information in this document is based on product update 408.
How do I define the XML server settings?
- Click XML Server settings on the left panel. Alternatively, click
Settings on the toolbar, and then click XML Server settings. - Define the relevant fields.
- Click Save.
- A message “Changes will take effect after restarting the software” will be displayed.
- Click OK.
- Restart Exact Globe Next.
Keep in mind: If there are fields highlighted in red after clicking Save, this means the fields are mandatory.
How do I edit the XML server settings?
- Click XML Server settings on the left panel. Alternatively, click Settings on the toolbar, and then click XML Server settings.
- Make the required changes.
- Click Save.
- A message “Changes will take effect after restarting the software” will be displayed.
- Click OK.
- Restart Exact Globe Next.
How do I view the changes made to the settings?
- Click the Logbook button.
- The list of changes made to the settings will be displayed.
- Click Close to exit.

Directory section
Error files directory
Type or select the file directory to store the error report.
Financial section
Difference amount
Type the rounding factor value which must be equal to or greater than zero used for financial entries import. By default, this is set to zero. For example, when you import financial entries in a foreign currency, it may happen that during the recalculation, rounding differences would come up. Thus, the Difference amount value you have set defines the maximum tolerance for the rounding differences.
Downloads section
Web address
Type the default web address to download XML files.
For users with the XML license, the Web address field will remain under the Downloads section in the XML Server settings screen.
A tooltip message "Export -> e-Synergy/Exact Synergy Enterprise, Where-used: [XML - Financial import - Financial export/Logistics export/Other export], [Professional service automation - Sales invoices - At final print]" is displayed when you mouse over the Web address field in the XML Server settings screen.
Note: This information is mandatory if you are using the Professional services automation applications. The web address is a pre-requisite to establish a connection between Exact Globe Next and Exact Synergy Enterprise. The connection is required to ensure that invoice numbers and invoice dates in Exact Globe Next can be updated in the respective requests in Exact Synergy Enterprise via web services.
Hours section
Project
Type or select the default project to be used when importing labor hour entries through XML if the project is not specified in the XML file.
Item code
Type or select the default hour item to be used when importing labor hour entries through XML if the labor hour is not specified in the XML file.
Import section
Delete source after import
Select this check box to delete the XML source file after the successful import of data.
Buttons
Logbook
Click this to view all the information of the changes you have made in the settings.
Save
Click this to save the changes.
Close
Click this to exit.
