You can add and modify G/L account subcategories in your company.
Go to Financial/Setup/Master data/Categories. Select any G/L account category and click Add to add a new subcategory or select any available subcategory and click Edit to modify the subcategory.
To create and modify G/L account subcategories, function right 29 – Maintain account categories is required. By default, users with the General Manager and Controller roles have this function right.
For more details on what you can do with function rights or levels, go to System/Setup/Security/Function rights, select the required module, and then click on the relevant ID. To find out the functions you can perform with a particular role, go to System/Setup/Security/Roles, type in the description, click Refresh, and then click the required link under the Role column.
Click this to save the subcategory.
Click this to save the subcategory and create another subcategory.
Note: This button is available only if you are creating a subcategory.
Click this to delete the subcategory.
Note: This button is available only if you are modifying a subcategory.
Click this to exit.
This field displays the category name and description and cannot be modified. Click the hyperlink to view the category maintenance screen.
Type the name of the subcategory. This is mandatory. This cannot be modified once saved.
Type the description of the subcategory. This can be changed when modifying the subcategory.
