Adding and maintaining project members

Introduction

Project members are people involved in the execution of a project. You can use the project membership to limit the access to a project by selecting the Only visible to members check box in the corresponding project card. You can further limit the access by defining an active period of the membership whereby a member can only access a project within the defined period. A project manager and an account manager of the linked account (if any) will be automatically added as project members. On this page, you can add or maintain a project member.

Roles and rights

All project managers and users with the Administrator, Project administrator, or Production manager role with the Corporate level can add or maintain project members.

How do I add new members to the project?

  1. On the Projects: Search page, define the relevant criteria.
  2. Click Show.
  3. Select the required project by clicking the hyperlinked project code under the Project column. The project card will be displayed.
  4. Under the Members tab, click New. The [Project code – Project description]: Add new member page will be displayed.
  5. At Person, type or select the employee ID of the new member. This is mandatory.
  6. Define other relevant criteria.
  7. Click Save to add the person as a member of the project.

Keep in mind: A project manager and an account manager are automatically added as project members and cannot be removed from the project.

How do I modify the start and end dates of memberships of the project members?

  1. On the Projects: Search page, define the relevant criteria.
  2. Click Show.
  3. Select the required project by clicking the hyperlinked project code under the Project column. The project card will be displayed.
  4. Under the Members tab, click Edit next to the corresponding project member. The [Project code – Project description]: [Name of member] page will be displayed.
  5. Make the necessary changes, and then click Save.

How do I remove people from being members of the project?

  1. On the Projects: Search page, define the relevant criteria.
  2. Click Show.
  3. Select the required project by clicking the hyperlinked project code under the Project column. The project card will be displayed.
  4. Under the Members tab, click Remove next to the corresponding project member.

Keep in mind: A project manager and an account manager are automatically added as project members and cannot be removed from the project.
