System ➔ Checks ➔ Logbook ➔ Online monitoring
This screen enables you to monitor the users who are currently logged on to the administration. Besides the identity of the users and the tasks which are being performed, this function also enables you to monitor the time when a user logs on to the administration, the login duration, as well as other login information.
The information in this document is applicable to product update 417 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
Select the grouping option to monitor the users who are currently logged on to the administration based on the user name or table name.
Select All if you want to view all the user names or the table names. Alternatively, select Locks to view only locks that are related to user names or table names.
Type the name of the user.
Type the cost center of the user.
Note: Name and Cost centre will be disabled if you select Table name at Group by.
Click this to view the filter options. Select or clear the check boxes to define the options for monitoring the transactions carried out by users within the administration based on the different lock modes applied on the resources. For more information on the definitions of the lock modes and people, see Understanding locking in SQL server.
Select the Only critical tables check box to view only the critical tables.
After defining the options, click Refresh to view the results in the online monitoring table.
Note: It is possible that not all columns in the online monitoring table are displayed. You can add or delete columns as required. For more information, see Inserting and deleting columns.
By default, you will see the User name, Name, Job title, Cost centre, Description, Start time, Locks, Duration(sec), Phone, Extension, System and (Media Access Control) MAC Address columns in the monitoring table.
Click this to update the results according to the defined criteria.
Click this to view the application log of a user.
Click this to view further details of a selected record. These details include the user name, name, start time, application name, table name, duration (sec), type, lock mode, and MAC address.
Click this to return to the previous screen. This button will be enabled only after you have clicked Zoom.
Click this to view the SQL statement of the selected user.
Note: This will only be enabled after you have clicked Zoom to view further details of a selected record and then select a user row with locks.
Click this to end the activity of a user. You cannot end your own activities. Therefore the button is disabled if you are the user.
Click this to exit.
