Sectors are used to group external parties, such as customers and suppliers, according to the nature of their business. Some examples of sectors are manufacturing, retail, financial, healthcare, education, services, and utilities. Sectors are used to enable the management of customer relationships. Sectors can be further categorized into subsectors. For more information, see Overview of subsectors.
All users are able to access this page to view the sectors. However, to create, modify, or delete sectors, function right 305 – Maintain sectors and subsectors is required. By default, users with the Customer manager role have this function right.
Note:
The information in this document is applicable to product update 240 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” icon is mandatory.

Click this to create an entry for sector. For more information, see Creating and modifying sectors.
Note: This is available only if you have function right 305 – Maintain sectors and subsectors.
Click this to delete the selected sectors.
Click this to exit.
You can delete a sector by selecting the corresponding check box, and then click Delete. To select all the listed sectors at once, select the check box at the header of the list. Clear the check box at the header of the list to clear the selection of sectors at once.
This column displays the codes of the sectors. You can click the hyperlink to view or modify the corresponding sector. For more information, see Creating and modifying sectors.
This column displays the descriptions of the sectors.
This column displays the policy documents linked to the sectors. You can click the hyperlink to view the corresponding document.
