Product Update 396: Exact Synergy Supports Windows Server 2008 R2
Introduction
Exact Synergy has been tested to run smoothly on Windows Server 2008 R2.

What has been changed
Exact Synergy can now run on Windows Server 2008 R2. You can upgrade your server operating system and be assured that Exact Synergy will still run smoothly on the new operating system.
The following are the preconditions when running Exact Synergy on Windows Server 2008 R2:

The 32-bit mode must be enabled in IIS7 in the 64-bit architecture environment.

The Enable Parent paths setting in IIS7 must be set to True.

Use IPv4.

The Exact Synergy background jobs cannot run on Windows Server 2008 R2. The background jobs must be scheduled to run on a separate server that the Windows Server environment supports. These include Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) and Windows Server 2008 (32-bit).
Note: To prevent error from occuring when using Exact Synergy, you need to deselect the Static Content Compression check box under Performance for your IIS7 at Start, Control panel, Administrative tools, then Server Manager. See the following screen for an example:
