Technical manuals Exact Financials 7.2x - Introduction
These technical manuals describe how to install (Exact Financials is being used for the first time), to migrate (currently you use Exact Financials 3.5) or to upgrade (currently you use version 7.2x). Basic system administration skills are required.
In case you are migrating from version 3.5 to version 7.2x, please mind that version 3.5 uses a Client /Server connection to the database which is being replaced by an Appserver connection to the database.
In version 3.5 and lower Exact Financials used a Client / Server connection to communicate with the database:
Now a Progress OpenEdge WebClient is used. The Progress OpenEdge WebClient communicates with a Progress OpenEdge AppServer. The Progress OpenEdge AppServer communicates with the database.
