Defining status and percentage of completion for operations

Introduction
You can define the status and the percentage of completion for an operation within a production order. By defining the status and percentage of completion for an operation, you are able to monitor the progress of operations involved in a production order.

The information in this document is based on product update 404.
How do I define the status and percentage of completion for operations?
- In the Manufacturing ➔ Entries ➔ Operations control screen, define the search criteria.
- Click Refresh.
- Select a production order from the overview.
- Click Status.
- In the Operations control screen, define the fields.
- Click Save.
Keep in mind: The Manufacturing ➔ Entries ➔ Operations control menu path is available only if you have selected the Operations check box at System ➔ General ➔ Settings ➔ Manufacturing settings.
How do I define the status and percentage of completion for the operations for multiple production orders?
- In the Manufacturing ➔ Entries ➔ Operations control screen, define the search criteria.
- Click Refresh.
- Press the SHIFT key, and select the production orders required from the overview.
- Click Status.
- In the Operations control screen, define the fields.
- Click Save.
Keep in mind: The Manufacturing ➔ Entries ➔ Operations control menu path is available only if you have selected the Operations check box at System ➔ General ➔ Settings ➔ Manufacturing settings.
Fields
Production orders
This displays the production order number. This cannot be edited.
Step
This displays the operation step number. This cannot be edited.
Operation
This displays the operation code of the production order. This cannot be edited.
Operation Status section
Status
Select a status for the operation. The operation status can be edited at any point of time regardless of its current status. For example, an operation with a current Completed status can be adjusted to Open or Released. Select any one of the following statuses:
- Open – Select this to set the status of the operation to Open. By default, the percentage of completion is “0”. The Percentage complete field cannot be edited.
- Released – Select this to set the status of the operation to Released. The Percentage complete field can now be edited. Define the percentage of completion accordingly. Values from “0” to “100” are accepted.
- Completed – Select this to set the status of the operation to Completed. By default, the percentage of completion will be “100”. The Percentage complete field cannot be edited.
Quantity completed
Type the quantity of the completed item for the operation. This can be edited only if Released is selected at Status.
Percentage complete
Type the percentage of completion for the operation. Values from “0” to “100” are accepted. This cannot be edited if Operation quantity completed is selected at Percentage complete calculation basis at System à General à Settings, under Manufacturing settings, and if Open or Complete is selected at Status.
Buttons
Save
Click this to save the defined status, and value of percentage completed or quantity completed for the operation(s).
Close
Click this to exit.
