E-Excel Add-In: Searching for master data

Introduction

With Excel Add-in, it is possible to look up the codes of certain master data. You can do this in Excel via the menu option (Microsoft Excel ➔ Exact Globe Next ➔ Search). The ID of the requested data will then be displayed. 

Note that this is not a function but a display of data. The data will therefore not be updated if this is changed in the company. In some cases, the ID can be different from the code (such as with categories).

Description

If you go to the menu path Microsoft Excel ➔ Exact Globe Next ➔ Search, you will see a list of things that can be searched in a submenu, such as general ledgers, categories, employees, creditors, et cetera.

Opening companies

When you select one of the options in the submenu, you will first get a screen in which you can select a company.

1. Select the company for which you want to search for data and click OK. 
2. The company will then be displayed. 

Keep in mind: This screen is displayed only if you have not yet opened any company.

Searching for master data

After selecting the company, you will be asked again for the administration number in the Search screen.

1. Select the company from which Exact should retrieve the data. You use the Default option here so that the standard company can be searched. If you select a different company, the relevant company will then be searched.
2. Click OK.
3. The selected menu option will then be automatically displayed.
4. Next, an overview screen will display the data in the selected master file.
5. To display the ID of the selected data, click on the selected data.
