Overview of Payroll Component Types

Introduction

This screen allows you to view a list of payroll component types and the subtypes. From this screen, you can select a component subtype to create an entry for the corresponding component.

There are two types of components, which are normal components and wage scale components. A wage scale component has a fixed wage amount and is dependent on the predefined variables. The variables could be of any factor including age, number of year’s experience, and job title. The value of a normal component does not depend on any variable. You can define the type by selecting the appropriate option at Scale during the creation of the components. A component is a wage scale component if you have selected any option other than N/A at Scale, while a component is a normal component if you have selected N/A at Scale.
