Customizing Request Type Fields - Invoice
Introduction
You can configure the Invoice field of a request type
in this page. The Invoice field performs two functions when it is used
in a request type. The first function is to determine whether an invoice is to
be created at the completion of the request. The second function is to allow
the user to determine where the generated invoice is to be sent to.
This field requires the Account field with the
condition that the account selected is a customer account. You can force only
selection of customer accounts by inserting c.cmp_type='C' in the Selection
criteria box of the Selection section in the definition of the Account
field. For more information, see Customizing

You can also use the Invoice: Division field together
with the Invoice field to determine which division that has a debtor
account of the selected customer is to bill the customer. The selection of the
division to issue the invoice to the customer is only applicable if the user
selects Account as the value of the Invoice field in the request,
and the selected account is a customer account. For more information, see Customizing

Description
The following describes only the settings specific for the Invoice
field. For more information on the menu path, roles and rights, buttons, and
other settings available in most request fields, see Customizing
Request Type Fields (Main Document).
- Search keyword: Type "invoice" in the Name
box and click Refresh. Click the Invoice field to add and
configure the field in the request type.
- Automatic label: In a generated request form, the
automatic label is "Invoice".
Note: The Mandatory section is not available
for this field.
Default section
Default
Select an option as the default invoicing option in a
newly-created request. A user can change the preselected option unless you have
disabled the editing of this field for a relevant status of the request in the Edit
section. The Account field must also be present in the request type. For
more information, see Customizing
Request Type Fields - Account.
- None - No invoice will be generated from a request
of this type.
- Account - An invoice is to be generated from a
request of this type and billed to the customer account selected in the Account
field. If the Invoice: Division field is also used, the user can
choose a division that has a debtor account of this customer to be the
division that issues the invoice. For more information, see Customizing
Request Type Fields - Invoice: Division.
- Reseller - An invoice is to be generated from a
request of this type and billed to the reseller of the customer account
selected in the Account field.
- Parent account - An invoice is to be generated from
a request of this type and billed to the parent account of the customer
account selected in the Account field.
