Product Updates 418 and 417: Payment purpose code supported in HSBC iFile for HSBC Malaysia

To support the payment purpose code functionality in the HSBC iFile format, the following enhancement has been made:

In the Format type screen, two fields have been added, namely the Instruction field, and the Payment code field under the Selection section:

For the Instruction field, there are two options available for selection. The options are as follows:

• LTR – Local Transfer: Select this option to use the local transfer instruction for the bank file. By default, this option is selected.
• FTR – Foreign Transfer: Select this option to use the foreign transfer instruction for the bank file.

For the Payment code field, all of the options that are available will be based on the available mandatory payment purpose codes for HSBC Malaysia. By default, the 00000 - Food and Live Animals option is selected.

Both fields will not be displayed if any option other than iFile (Priority payment) has been selected at the Format type field.
