What is the difference between a Heavy user, Medium user and Light user?
Heavy user
Heavy users work intensively with the
software, and have access to all parts of the software. Employees in the finance
department, people entering sales orders and warehouse employees are typical
examples of a heavy user.
Medium user
Medium users work regularly with the
software and have access to those parts of the software that support work
processes and collaboration, such as workflow management and document
management. Anytime and anywhere, also via user-friendly apps. Examples of a
medium user are project managers and service engineers.
Light users
Light users use the software in a limited way. The light user role is a role without functionality that is used to enable other functional roles for specific processes, such as customer relationship management, time writing, or HR self-service processes. The following license roles can be assigned to a Light user:
- CRM
- Employee self-service
- enabling add-on solutions
- Hour entry
- Incoming invoice register
- Mobile
- Project controller
- Project manager
- Report manager
- Service management
- Shop floor control
Note: The Basic user can not be assigned to the light user. The Basic user is introduced in
product update 258 as a replacement for the Synergy user (a user with no roles assigned). For more information about
the Basic user, see
Basic user role.
