Projects
Introduction
You can filter the projects that you want to display on this page by defining one or more search criteria, and then click Show. You can view the project cards by clicking the hyperlinked project code. Then, if you want to modify the project cards, click Edit.
Apart from projects, you can also search for divisions, job groups, or assortments linked to projects that match the defined criteria. If you click the hyperlinked job group or division code, you can view the corresponding card. However, if you click the hyperlinked assortment code, you can edit the corresponding card.

What version are you using?
The information in this document is applicable to product update 261 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here
will not be applicable.
How do I search for projects?
- On the Projects: Search page, define the search criteria.
- Click Show.
How do I view the projects?
- On the Projects: Search page, define the search criteria.
- Click Show.
- In the Expanded or Compressed view, click the project code or description hyperlink. In the Column view, click the relevant hyperlink in the Project column.
Buttons
Close
Click this to exit.
Show
Click this to display the results according to the defined criteria.
Note:
- Once you have clicked this, the name of the button will change to Search.
- Once you have clicked this, the Reset, Count, and Default buttons will not be available.
- Once the search results are displayed, the Expanded, Compressed, and Column icons will be available next to the Page size field for you to select the display views for the search results.
Reset
Click this to clear the defined criteria.
Count
Click this to obtain the number of projects according to the defined criteria.
Default
Click this to set the search criteria to the default settings.
You will see the following buttons after clicking the Show button.
Search
Click this to define new criteria for your search.
Icon
Customise
Click this icon at the title bar to customize the fields or sections. You can add or remove existing criteria based on your preferences by selecting or clearing the relevant check boxes. Click Save to save the settings, Default to reset your selections to the default setting, or Close to exit without saving. Take note of the following sections, fields, and columns:
Project section
Item
Type or select an item to search for projects linked to this item. Leave this blank to search for projects linked to any item.
Cost center
Type or select a cost center to search for projects linked to this cost center. Leave this blank to search for projects linked any cost centers.
Job group
Type or select a job group to search for projects linked to this job group. Leave this blank to search for projects linked to any job group.
Cost unit
Type or select a cost unit to search for projects linked to this cost unit. Leave this blank to search for projects linked to any cost unit.
Division
Type or select a division to search for projects linked to this division. Leave this blank to search for projects linked to any division.
Start date
Type or select a date or date range to search for projects that are planned to start on this date or within this date range. Leave these blank to search for projects that are planned to start on any date.
Note: The date range refers to the date planned for a project at Start date (End date) under the Planning section of a project card. Typing or selecting only the start of a date range will display projects with planned start dates on or later than the entered date. Typing or selecting only the end of a date range will display projects with planned start dates on or earlier than the entered date.
Include: Text
Select this check box to include the full or partial text entered at Description in the search.
Include: Children
Select this check box to include the children of the defined projects in the result.
Note: A child project is a project that is linked to another project, which acts as the parent project. By linking the projects, you can gain access to a high-level monitoring which includes all the related projects in a single overview.
Status
Select the Proposed, Active, Completed, and/or Blocked check boxes to search for projects with the corresponding status. Leave the check boxes blank to search for projects with any status.
Security level
Type the security level to search for projects with the entered security level. Leave this blank to search for projects with any security level.
Note: The security level will determine that only people with the corresponding or higher security level can view or access this project.
Type
Select the Fixed, Time & Material, Internal, Production, and/or Training check boxes to search for projects with the corresponding type. Clear all the check boxes to search for any type of projects.
Contract section
Confirmation
Type or select one of the following:
- Created — This will display projects linked to documents to be used for confirmation of the details of this project.
- None — This will display projects which are not linked to documents to be used for confirmation.
Leave this blank to display projects that are linked and not linked to documents to be used for confirmation of the details of this project.
Evaluation
Type or select one of the following:
- Created — This will display projects linked to documents to be used for evaluation of this project.
- None — This will display projects which are not linked to any document to be used for evaluation.
Leave this blank to display projects that are linked and not linked to documents to be used for evaluation of this project.
Proposal
Type or select one of the following:
- Created — This will display projects linked to documents to be sent as a proposal to the customers of this project.
- None — This will display projects which are not linked to documents to be sent as a proposal to the customers.
Leave this blank to display projects that are linked and not linked to documents to be sent as a proposal to the customers of this project.
Options section
Group by
Type or select Job group, Division, or Assortment to group the result accordingly whereby you will see a list of job groups, divisions, or assortments linked to the defined project. Leave this blank to group the result by project.
Fields
Project section
Project manager
Type or select the project manager to search for projects linked to this selected manager. Leave this blank to search for projects linked to any project manager.
Description
Type the text to search for projects with matching description. There are three search conditions available when you click the icon. Each click will change the search condition to:
- Starts with — This displays projects with descriptions that start with the defined text. By default, you will see this icon.
- Contains — This displays projects with descriptions that contain the defined text.
- Equal to — This displays the project with exact project description.
Account
Type or select an account to search for projects linked to this account. Leave this blank to search for projects linked to any account.
Code
Type letters or numbers to search for projects based on the project codes. There are three search conditions available when you click the icon. Each click will change the search condition to:
- Starts with — This displays projects with codes that start with the defined letters or numbers. By default, you will see this icon.
- Contains — This displays projects with codes that contain the defined letters or numbers.
- Equal to — This displays the project with the exact project code.
Assortment
Type or select an assortment to search for projects linked to this assortment. Leave this blank to search for projects linked to any assortment.
Note: Assortments are categories that identify groups of items with similar properties. Assortments are used to present a strategic overview of item information in reports. The assortments available for selection depends on the assortments created at Modules ? Logistics ? Setup ? General ? Assortments.
Templates section
You can save your search criteria as a template. For more information, see Creating and modifying search templates.
Columns section
This section displays the project, description, manager, and requests of the projects that match your search criteria.
