Error Log Report

Error Log Report

Introduction

It is possible to obtain an error log report by defining one or more of the following criteria. In this report, you can view all system-level errors encountered by your employee and respond quickly to the problems.

Roles & rights

Only users with the Administrator role or users with function right 1062 - Allow to view logs can obtain the error log report.

For more details on what you can do with function rights or levels, go to System/Setup/Security/Function rights, select the required module, and then click on the relevant ID. To find out the functions you can perform with a particular role, go to System/Setup/Security/Roles, type in the description, click Refresh, and then click the required link under the Role column.

Button

Show

Click this to display the report based on the defined criteria.

Refresh

Click this to refresh the report based on the last defined criteria. You can only see this button after you have clicked Show.

Reset

Click this to clear the defined criteria.

Close

Click this to exit.

Description

ID

Type the error log identification number to display the error log that matches the identification number.

Date + time

Type the date and time range to display the error log within the specified period.

Server

Type the name of the server to display the errors encountered by the server.

Application (Starts with)

Type an application name that starts with a certain letter or word to display the errors generated by this application. For example, you can type “Sys” to display the error log linked to all the applications under the System module.

Person

Type or select the person to display the errors encountered by this person.

Text (Contains)

Type the error text that contains a certain word or number to display the error log that matches the text.

Exclude

Select Query: Time-out to exclude the query time-out errors in the report, or Query: Errors to exclude the query errors in the report. Query time-out errors happen when the execution of a database query takes a longer time which exceeds a certain limit as defined in the query time-out settings. This type of error often occurs on huge databases. Meanwhile, query errors are errors caused by wrongly formed SQL query.

Note: You can leave the field blank if you want to show both the query time-out and query errors in the report.
