In the international business environment, it is common that a specific item is used or sold in various countries across the world. For this reason, it is possible to copy a particular item in the system to other active countries. Active countries refer to the countries which you can use in the system. With this function, you can save time as you do not need to create new entries of the item for every other country, but only copy the details of the item to other countries.
Go to Logistics/Reports/Search/Items, define the search criteria and then click Show to display the overview of items. Under the Code column, click the item code which you want to copy to other countries, and then click Edit. Next, click Actions followed by Copy item: Country.
To copy items to other countries, function right 347 – Maintain Country items is required. Users with the Item management role have this function right.
For more details on what you can do with function rights or levels, go to System/Setup/Security/Function rights, select the required module, and then click on the relevant ID. To find out the functions you can perform with a particular role, go to System/Setup/Security/Roles, type in the description, click Refresh, and then click the required link under the Role column.
Click this to copy the item to the selected active countries. After you have clicked this, you will see a confirmation message to copy the item to the selected countries. Click Yes. Next, you will see a message that confirms the successful copying of the item.
Click this to exit.
This displays the selected item which you want to copy.
This displays the current country of the selected item you want to copy.
This column displays all the active countries available in the system which you can copy the item to. Select the check box in the first column to copy the item to the selected country. You can select more than one country at the same time. To select all the active countries, select the check box on the first column header. For more information on activating a country, see Modifying Country Data.
Type or select the division which will manage the item in the country which you want to copy the item to.
Type or select the sales price currency of the item in the country. Available options depend on the active currencies available in the system. For more information on activating a currency, see Modifying Currency. Next, type the sales price of the item in the country which you want to copy the item to.
Type or select the start date from which the sales price of the item will be active. By default, it will show the current date.
Type or select the end date which the sales price of the item will be active. Leave this blank if you want the sales price to be active for as long as the business requires.
