At this page, you can define a currency as a hyperinflationary currency and set the effective year and period for the currency to become hyperinflationary. By default, all currencies are set as non-hyperinflationary in the system.
Go to Financial/Setup/General/Currencies, select a currency from the overview of currencies to view the settings of the currency. At the Hyperinflationary section, click New.
To maintain the hyperinflationary currencies, function right 33 – Maintain Currencies is required. Users with the General manager and Controller roles have this function right.
For more details on what you can do with function rights or levels, go to System/Setup/Security/Function rights, select the required module, and then click on the relevant ID. To find out the functions you can perform with a particular role, go to System/Setup/Security/Roles, type in the description, click Refresh, and then click the required link under the Role column.
Click this to save the new hyperinflationary currency record or changes made to an existing hyperinflationary currency record.
Click this to delete an existing hyperinflationary record.
Note: This button is available only if you open an existing hyperinflationary record by clicking the effective year/period link under the Hyperinflationary section on the currency settings screen. For more information, see Modifying Currency.
Click this to exit.
Select the check box to define the currency as a hyperinflationary currency. To change the currency from hyperinflationary to non-hyperinflationary, clear the check box.
Type the effective year for the currency to become hyperinflationary. This information is mandatory.
