Calculating production order costs using Batch updates

Introduction
This screen allows you to calculate production order costs using the Batch updates feature and have the calculated costs displayed in Microsoft Excel.
What version are you using?
The information in this document is based on product update 405.
How do I generate the calculated production order costs?
- Click Batch updates. The Update: Calculated cost price screen will be displayed.
- Under the Calculation section, type or select the scenario. This is mandatory.
- Select the check box(es) to display the column(s). For example, if you want the Description column to be displayed in the quotation, select the Description check box under the Line section.
- Click OK.
Fields
Calculation section
Scenario
Type or select a scenario code to generate the corresponding rolled up calculated cost price scenario.
Note: The rolled up calculated cost price scenario available for selection is created in Manufacturing à Setup à Scenarios.
Range section
Summary / Details
Select Summary to generate a summary of the rolled up calculated cost price, or Details to generate a detailed report of the rolled up calculated cost price.
Item code
Type or select an item code or range of item codes to generate the rolled up calculated cost price for the item(s). Select the All check box to generate the rolled up calculated cost price for all items.
Assortments
Click this to display a list of all assortment types. You will see the Assortments screen. Select the assortment(s) required, and then click Select. Click Close to return to Manufacturing à To be processed à Calculate. You will now see a green check mark next to the Assortments button.
Note: Assortments are available here if settings are defined at System à General à Settings à Item data settings or at Inventory à Items à Assortments.
Person
Type or select a person to generate the rolled up calculated cost price for manufactured items created by the person.
BOM version
Select one of the Bill of Materials (BOM) versions to generate the rolled up calculated cost price for the BOM version:
- Main — This generates the rolled up calculated cost price for the main BOM item.
- All — This generates the rolled up calculated cost price for all BOM versions.
- Select — This generates the rolled up calculated cost price for a specific BOM version. You can type the required BOM version in the text box next to Select.
Scenario section
The details are displayed in these fields by default once you have selected a scenario under the Calculation section.
Maximum number of levels
This will display the lowest BOM level from which the rolled up cost should be calculated. Option All will calculate cost price in every level of BOM and roll up to the end product, while option 1 will calculate only one level up. The option displayed depends on the selected Scenario under the Calculation section.
Explode: Stock controlled
This will display the option to explode all the subassembly material for the stock-controlled end product.
Round off to: Batch quantity
This will display the option to generate the rolled up calculated cost price for the batch size as specified in the BOM.
Round off to: Purchase order
This will display the option to generate the rolled up calculated cost price using the purchase unit or purchase order size as specified in item maintenance (Supplier section under the Inventory tab at Inventory à Items à Maintain).
Make / Buy
This will display the required option to generate the rolled up calculated cost price based on either manufactured items or purchased items.
Item price: Buy
This will display the required option to calculate the cost price from these available options:
- Cost price — This option generates the rolled up calculated cost price using the cost price of purchased items (under the Basics tab at Inventory à Items à Maintain).
- Purchase price (Main supplier) — This option generates the rolled up calculated cost price using the purchase price of the main supplier (under the Basics tab at Inventory à Items à Maintain).
- Sales price — This option generates the rolled up calculated cost price using the sales price of the purchased items (under the Basics tab at Inventory à Items à Maintain).
Item price: Make
This will display the required option to calculate the cost price from these available options:
- Cost price — This option generates the rolled up calculated cost price using the cost price of manufactured items (under the Basics tab at Inventory à Items à Maintain).
- Calculated cost price (Main version) — This option generates the rolled up calculated cost price using the calculated cost price of the main version (at Manufacturing à Setup à BOM).
- Sales price — This option generates the rolled up calculated cost price using the sales price of the manufactured items (under the Basics tab at Inventory à Items à Maintain).
Margin %
This is the margin in percentage of the total sales margin and it is to be used for generating the rolled up calculated cost price.

Click this to generate the updated rolled up calculated cost price overview in Microsoft Excel.
Close
Click this to exit.
