Creating and modifying location entries

Introduction
On this page, you can create, modify, or delete the location entries.
Roles and rights
To create or modify locations, function right 97 – Maintain locations is required. Users with the HR role have this function right.

The information in this document is based on product update 250.
How do I create location entries?
- On the HRM: Locations page, click New.
- On the HRM: Location - New page at Code, type the code of the location.
- At Description, type the description or name of the location.
- Type or select the country code at Country to indicate where the location is.
- Fill in other information.
- Click Save.
Keep in mind: All fields with the "!" icon are mandatory.
How do I modify the location entries?
- On the HRM: Locations page, click the hyperlinked code in the Code column.
- Make the necessary changes.
- Click Save.
How do I delete the location entries?
- On the HRM: Locations page, click the hyperlinked code in the Code column.
- Click Delete. A message "Are you sure that you want to delete this record?" is displayed.
- Click OK to confirm the deletion.
Keep in mind: You cannot delete a location entry that is currently linked to a person.
Buttons
Save
Click this to save the entry for the location.
Save + New
Click this to save the entry for the location and create another entry.
Note: This is available only when you are creating a location entry.
Delete
Click this to delete the location entry.
Note: This is available only when you are modifying a location entry.
Close
Click this to exit and return to the listing of locations. For more information, see Overview of locations.
Fields
General section
Code
Type the code of the location. Once the entry is saved, this information cannot be edited.
Description
Type the name or description of the location.
Address section
Address, Number, Suffix
Type the first line address, unit number of the location, and suffix respectively.
Address 2
Type the second line address, if available.
Postcode, City
Type the postcode and the city of the location.
Country, State
Type or select the country and/or state codes to indicate the country and state where the location is at.
Phone, Fax
Type the phone and/or fax numbers of the location.
