How to force specific MAC address, device model or resolution in Pick-IT.ASP

Pick-IT recognizes the mobile devices by the MAC address (physical network card address) of that device. So the next time the device starts Pick-IT, it is already known and the previous chosen resolution is applied again.

In some cases, the MAC address cannot be determined (like when using Pick-IT through a router and over Internet). Also, the ASP function that determines the MAC address, does not work on x64 machines (see document 19.340.950).

In those cases it is possible to include the device MAC address, device model or desired resolution in the URL:

• specify MAC address in URL:  http://myserver/pickit/mobile/DeviceSetup.aspx?macAddress=82-00-60-0F-E8-00
  You can either specify the actual MAC address, or just use a dummy address unique for this device.
    
• specify device model in URL:  http://myserver/pickit/mobile/DeviceSetup.aspx?manufacturer=Symbol&model=mc9090
  The known models are listed in the file Devices.Config (located in the IIS folder)
    
• specify desired resolution in URL:  http://myserver/pickit/mobile/DeviceSetup.aspx?screenHeight=320&screenWidth=240&fullScreen=true&style=default
     

This functionality is available from Pick-IT.ASP release 1177 and higher.
