Introduction

It is possible to modify the country data in the system.

Menu path

Go to System/Setup/References/Countries, define the criteria to display the overview of countries, and then click Show. Next, click a country code under the Code column to modify the data of the selected country.

Roles & rights

To modify the country data, function right 93 – Maintain countries is required. Users with the HR role have this function right.

For more details on what you can do with function rights or levels, go to System/Setup/Security/Function rights, select the required module, and then click on the relevant ID. To find out the functions you can perform with a particular role, go to System/Setup/Security/Roles, type in the description, click Refresh, and then click the required link under the Role column.

Click this to save the changes made in the country data.

Close

Click this to exit.

Description

Code

This displays the country code of the selected country. You cannot change the code.

Description

Type the name of the country.

Continent

Select the continent to group the country under this continent. Available options depend on the continents you have created in the system. You can create the continents at System/Setup/References/Countries: Classifications. For more information, see Overview of Continents/Regions.

Region

Select the region to group the country under this region. Available options depend on the regions you have created in the system. You can create the regions at System/Setup/References/Countries: Classifications. For more information, see Overview of Continents/Regions.

Active

Select the check box to activate a country in order to use the country in the system. Alternatively, clear the check box to deactivate a country.

States section

This section displays all the states of the selected country and their codes in the system under the State and Code columns, respectively. You cannot change the data in this section.
