Introduction
This documents describes the settings available for E-WMS SSCC functionality in menu path
System, General, Settings,
WMS SSCC, as available per product update 407.
Description
The settings tab 'WMS SSCC' contains settings related to scanning SSCC
numbers or printing new SSCC labels during sales order fulfillment, or settings
for Autopack or SSCC Shipment Builder. The SSCC settings are available for a
E-WMS I (SE1380) or E-WMS Lite (SE1386) license. The settings are also partly
available for a SSCC Shipment Builder license (SE1387).
You can jump directly to a specific settings section:
Section: General
SSCC Numbers
This setting enables the SSCC settings and
functionality in general, whether for 'scanned' or 'generated' SSCC, or when you
want to use Autopack or Shipment Builder functionality. This setting is not
available for SSCC Shipment Builder license (SE1387), because then this setting
is always 'on'.
Section: Generated multi-layer SSCC
Use multi-layer SSCC
This setting should be enabled for following scenario's:
- you want to generate new SSCC numbers and print SSCC labels during E-WMS
ASP order picking. The labels can be printed from the hand terminal, which
requires a specific
version and
configuration of BarTender label software.
- you want to work with E-WMS
Autopack and Shipment Builder functionality, instead of picking sales
orders on a hand terminal in the warehouse.
For both scenario's, E-WMS will generate new SSCC numbers, which requires you
to configure how the 18-digit SSCC number is configured.
This setting should be disabled when:
- you want to just scan already available SSCC numbers, during the order
picking process in E-WMS ASP. Your picked items already have SSCC labels
attached, or you are using a stack of pre-printed SSCC labels used during
order picking.
Only when this setting is disabled, will the settings in section 'Scanned
SSCC' become available
For a SSCC Shipment Builder license (SE1387), this setting is not visible,
and is by default enabled.
Extension digit
This is the GS1 'extension digit', first digit of the total SSCC number.
This number is free to assign in the range 0 to 9 and will signify a specific
plant or branch office of your organization.
This setting is available as from Exact Globe 402, in earlier releases this
digit should be the first digit of the setting 'GS1 company code' (see next
setting).
GS1 company prefix
This is the company code assigned to you by the GS1 organization.
In Exact Globe 401 and earlier, above setting 'extension digit' was not a
separate setting and has to be added here, as first digit prefix.
Prefix shipment
This is the prefix for SSCC numbers generated by E-WMS for shipment
numbers and labels. This digit will be placed behind the company code and is
required to ensure a unique range of sequence numbers for SSCC numbers in
general. Therefore, this prefix cannot be the same as the prefix for an 'outer
SSCC' or 'inner SSCC' number.
SSCC shipment
This is the first sequence number to start with, for the next SSCC number for
shipment labels. E-WMS will automatically increase this number each time a new
shipment SSCC is created.
Prefix Outer SSCC
This is the prefix for SSCC numbers generated by E-WMS for pallet (outer
SSCC) numbers and labels. This digit will be placed behind the company code
and is required to ensure a unique range of sequence numbers for SSCC
numbers in general. Therefore, this prefix cannot be the same as the prefix for
a 'shipment' or 'inner SSCC' number.
Outer SSCC
This is the first sequence number to start with, for the next SSCC number for
outer SSCC (pallet) labels. E-WMS will automatically increase this number each
time a new pallet SSCC is created.
Prefix inner SSCC
This is the prefix for SSCC numbers generated by E-WMS for box or case (inner
SSCC) numbers and labels. This digit will be placed behind the company code
and is required to ensure a unique range of sequence numbers for SSCC
numbers in general. Therefore, this prefix cannot be the same as the prefix for
a 'shipment' or 'outer SSCC' number.
Inner SSCC
This is the first sequence number to start with, for the next SSCC number for
inner SSCC (box or case) labels. E-WMS will automatically increase this number
each time a new box SSCC is created.
Section: Scanned SSCC
SSCC
This setting determines whether you want to scan SSCC numbers for 'pallets' or
'Outer SSCC's', during order picking in E-WMS ASP. You have following choices:
- No: the input of an outer SSCC number will
be skipped during order picking
- Optional: the input of an outer SSCC number
is required for each scanned order line, but the SSCC number may be left
empty
- Mandatory: the input of an outer SSCC
number is required for each scanned order line, and the SSCC number may not
be left empty
Besides these settings used in general for the order picking process, you are
able to overrule this per customer (debtor), in Exact Globe Next maintenance of
Accounts Receivable, WMS button.
When the debtor settings are empty , the main settings from WMS SSCC will be
used.
SSCC: Unique
This setting determines if a pallet SSCC number can only be scanned once. Please
note, that this is only validated after reading back the picked lines in the
control center. You have following choices:
- No: an outer SSCC number can be
scanned more than once, for the same or different debtors (no validation on
existing SSCC numbers)
- Yes: an outer SSCC number can only be used
once, for the same delivery debtor:
- the SSCC number may not exist in processed WMS fulfillment SSCC data
(for any debtor)
- the SSCC number may not exist in unprocessed WMS fulfillments for other
delivery debtor numbers
SSCC: Minimum length
You can configure a minimum accepted length for scanning a pallet SSCC
number, to avoid scanning the wrong barcode. When the setting 'SSCC' is set to
'Optional', then this setting is not applied when leaving a SSCC number empty.
If you would only scan GS1 SSCC numbers, then you could set this setting to
'18'.
SSCC: Maximum length
You can configure a maximum accepted length for scanning a pallet SSCC number,
to avoid scanning the wrong barcode. If you would only scan GS1 SSCC numbers,
then you could set this setting to '18'.
Prefill outer SSCC
This setting is available from release
402, and gives you the possibility how to prefill the pallet SSCC number
during order picking:
- Copy from previous line
(default setting): The SSCC scan box will be prefilled with the previous
scanned value (from the current order picking session), and the value can be
accepted with Enter, or another SSCC number can be scanned
- Empty: The SSCC number will always be empty
(and will force scanning the SSCC number)
- Outer SKU: The SSCC number will be
prefilled with the scanned (picked) SKU pallet number, and then the user can
still accept this value, or scan another SSCC. Applies only when
SKU Management is activated and when an outer SKU number was
scanned to pick this item.
- Outer SKU, skip input: The SSCC number will
be prefilled with the scanned (picked) SKU pallet number, and also input of
the SSCC field is skipped (and not visible to the order picker). Applies
only when SKU Management is activated and when an outer SKU
number was scanned to pick this item.
Inner SSCC
This setting determines whether you want to scan SSCC numbers for 'boxes' or
'inner SSCC's', during order picking in E-WMS ASP. You have following choices:
- No: the input of an inner SSCC number will
be skipped during order picking
- Optional: the input of an inner SSCC number
is required for each scanned order line, but the SSCC number may be left
empty
- Mandatory: the input of an inner SSCC
number is required for each scanned order line, and the SSCC number may not
be left empty
Besides these settings used in general for the order picking process, you are
able to overrule this per customer (debtor), in Exact Globe Next maintenance of
Accounts Receivable, WMS button (see setting 'SSCC' above).
Inner SSCC: Unique
This setting determines if a box SSCC number can only be scanned once. Please
note, that this is only validated after reading back the picked lines in the
control center.
You have following choices:
Inner SSCC: Minimum length
You can configure a minimum accepted length for scanning a box SSCC number,
to avoid scanning the wrong barcode. When the setting 'Inner SSCC' is set to
'Optional', then this setting is not applied when leaving a SSCC number empty.
If you would only scan GS1 SSCC numbers, then you could set this setting to
'18'.
Inner SSCC: Maximum length
You can configure a maximum accepted length for scanning a box SSCC number, to
avoid scanning the wrong barcode. If you would only scan GS1 SSCC numbers, then
you could set this setting to '18'.
Prefill inner SSCC
This setting is available from release
402, and gives you the possibility how to prefill the box SSCC number during
order picking:
- Copy from previous line
(default setting): The SSCC scan box will be prefilled with the previous
scanned value (from the current order picking session), and the value can be
accepted with Enter, or another SSCC number can be scanned
- Empty: The SSCC number will always be empty
(and will force scanning the SSCC number)
- Outer SKU: The SSCC number will be
prefilled with the scanned (picked) SKU box number, and then the user can
still accept this value, or scan another SSCC.
Copying inner SKU numbers to inner
SSCC numbers is done after reading back the picked sales order, from
release 407.
Section: Autopack
These settings are only available when the setting 'Use multi-layer SSCC'
(see above) is enabled, because these SSCC number
settings are required for Autopack.
Use Autopack
When enabled, the
Autopack and Shipment Builder functionality will be enabled in the Control
Center Sales Order Fulfillment.
This setting is not visible when you have SSCC Shipment Builder (SE1387) in your
license, since then it is by default always enabled.
Reports setting
See document WMS reports.
The report settings are not available for E-WMS Lite (SE1386).
