Configure/Create Oracle databases for Exact Financials
As of version 7.25 of Exact Financials you need to create the databases with a AL32UTF8 character set.
This chapter describes how to create the Oracle databases for Exact Financials.
- Create an instance with character set .AL32UTF8.
- Create two tablespaces named like "ExactCS" & "Edis".
- Create a user with ExactCS as default Tablespace. Make sure this user has at least DBA and CONNECT privileges.
- Do the same for the Edis tablespace.
- If the database engine is not running on the Exact Financials application server, install the Oracle Net Client. make sure it is configured in a way that both ExactCS and Edis can be connected to from the applicationserver.
- Make sure to note the instancename, tablespaces and users. These will need to be entered during the installation of Exact Financials.
- Additionally make sure the environment variable NLS_LANG is set to ".AL32UTF8".
- Start Exact Financials
- The ExactCS database schema will be created using '<exact>\cd\database\oracle\exactcs.sql' in the database with alias or logical name 'exactcs'
- The Edis database schema will be created using '<exact>\cd\database\oracle\edis.sql' in the database with alias or logical name 'edis'
- The demo data will be imported into the ExactCS database from '<exact>\cd\database\data\exactcs\*.json'
- The demo data for edis will be imported into the Edis database from '<exact>\cd\database\data\edis\*.json' if applicable
